Sudoku is a logic based puzzle part of a large family of number puzzle games that date back to 1892, but did not take modern shape until 1979 when Howard Garns created Number Place which became known as sudoku when maki kaji brought the game to japan. From japan the game slowly spread to reach its now world wide popularity
